DESCRIPTION:
APW - Illinois, Bunn Special with rare fishscale damascene, 23J, 16S, gold-filled OF swingout recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel, fishscale pattern nickel damascene, s#2593834. The fishscale damascene is quite rare among 23 jewel Bunn Special production; in total only approximately 320 were made of this open face version.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, scattered bits of oxide on winding wheels and regulator spring, some small spots of finish loss to train bridge adjacent screw on right side; dial with two very faint hls within seconds-register, very faint hl below seconds-register at 5:30, minuscule surface nick above 7; fine hands with some areas of finish loss; case shows light to medium wear, dings on band at 3 and 7, some small nicks, bow impression to upper rear, engine turning detail is largely lost with only some of the central portion remaining evident; tight bow, crown shows medium to ample wear; plastic crystal with few fine scratches.
